Along the was, you will stop at Rio Tempisque to see the local Sandmen at work, and learn why, for many generations, they have been extracting the sands from the inner river by hand.
The tour then brings you along the different fruit plantations and into the heart of the sugar cane country. You will get the chance to visit an historic Hacienda and will be given the opportunity to experiment the sugar cane transformation by touching, seeing and tasting the product in its separate phases of production like it was done more than 100 years ago with the traditional Trapiche mill.
Each participant is also given the chance to learn to make the traditional Tortilla and savor delicious Costa Rican coffee and traditional snacks freshly made in the Tico fashion.
Along the way, the visitors get to visit a typical Costa Rican house which dates to 100 years. Furthermore, you will see a Chorotega Indian Artist demonstrate how their authentic art of pottery making has been passed from generation to generation for hundreds of years.
